Wolfkeeper’s Woman by Lisa Day

I seriously enjoyed reading Wolfkeeper’s Woman by Lisa Day. It’s been years since I have read a historical romance about Native American Indians. Lisa managed to remind me why I loved them so much, and why I started reading romance to begin with. Wolfkeeper’s Woman toyed with my emotions. It made me angry. It made me sad. It then made me care about Wolfkeeper. If you overlook the grammatical flaws, I guarantee you would enjoy this story and give it the endorsement it deserves.

The Stolen Years is definitely a must read. I was a bit lost in the beginning, but then again, I’m not Australian. Thank goodness for the glossary at the end of the book. Once you understand the lingo, you become engrossed in this unique, amazing story. I’m not about to give away the plot, but once you read this collection, you are hooked to the end. If you don’t believe me, just read it for yourself.

I didn’t know what to expect when I read the title, “The 92-Year-Old Lady Who Made Me Steal a Dead Man’s Car”.  I did wonder how an old person could manage to do this. What I found in the book was not what I expected. The uniqueness of this story kept me reading to the end, which was another surprise. This is the third book I have read from Fred Schafer. His easy flowing writing style and imagination makes his books a joy to read.

Men Are Like Wine by Anne Violette

Men Are Like Wine Book Image

If there were an Albert Einstein award for writers, author Anne Violette would be the top recipient.  In her unique way, she simplifies the complexity in wine making so a novice could understand, then compares the final product to male characteristics.  In my opinion, this was brilliant.

Ms. Violette’s explanations about the wines were just enough without becoming overwhelming or boring.  Her smooth transitions into the relationships of several couples made you smile and nod your head in agreement.  The men were pegged spot on.

Anne Violette’s “Men are like Wine” is sure to become a favorite read for both women and men with her fun, refreshing, and humorous style of writing.

Love Poems for Cannibals by Raymond Keen

Blaring, Daring, Real

Edgar Allan Poe is the author that came to mind when I began reading Raymond Keen’s Love Poems for Cannibals. These poems are very cerebral.  They really, I mean REALLY, make you sit back and think. My personal favorite is ‘I Love the Traveling Christ’. So much meaning in so little words. Amazing.

Shattered Reality by Brenda Perlin

An Eye Opener

Talk about eye opening experiences, Home Wrecker definitely opened my eyes.  Brooklyn is  introduced in the beginning of the book as a teenager.  Through her eyes, you experience her life.  You get to know and understand the factors that motivate Brooklyn and the choices she makes while entering adulthood. You cannot help but be on her side and wish her happiness. When true happiness finally presents itself to Brooklyn, I was torn between my moral side and my heart. This story made me pause and reflect…I mean really reflect. It taught me not to be so quick to judge others. I should get to know the person first, then try to understand why the person made the choices they made.  Their reasons may just make sense.

Refreshingly Different

Forever After by Mary Meddlemore was a strange but delightful story.  This is the second story I have come across that contained storybook characters that enter the real world.  Mary did a great job keeping my interest from start to finish.  I look forward to seeing what book 2 has within its covers.
